Early Years Staff Training

We offer bespoke training for practitioners. This explores the links between the Early Years Foundation Stage, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and global learning themes such as identity and diversity, water, play, homes, transport and food. Resources, books, stories, musical instruments and home corner boxes can be browsed and borrowed to enrich the learning of your little global citizens.

Our range of hands-on resource collections available to borrow include themes such as Water, Food, and Recycled Toys. We also have West African, Chinese and Indian home corner collections. These offer inspirational, practical and fun ways to promote positive attitudes to diversity, similarity and difference, and help you bring the world to your place.

DEED’s training and resources will support practitioners and teaching staff to explore how we all connect with the wider world through the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the homes we live in, and our everyday actions. With a key role in situating ourselves within both local and global communities, we ensure that all sections of the community are equally represented. We do this by choosing appropriate images, posters, games, stories, music or art. Use of our resources can help staff make connections and explore similarities and differences, helping to develop little global citizens.

Resources:

In order to help you bring the world to your place, we have various home corner boxes, toys, dressing up clothes, books, stories, and musical instruments which can be used by young children to help bring the world alive! Our training will help you and give you ideas for using them.
