First ever Dorset Conference of Parties (COP) is to take place on Saturday 9th September in Dorchester

Zero Carbon Dorset, Dorset Climate Action Network and Sustainable Dorset have combined forces to launch the first-ever Dorset COP “Conference of Parties”. This ground-breaking, community-led event is an attempt to apply the power of the international COPs to local issues and so galvanise Dorset into action to tackle the climate and ecological emergency.

This networking event hopes to attract people and organisations from all over Dorset and will be Dorset’s very own opportunity for the community to have its say on the climate and ecological issues. This unique event will raise the power and reach of Dorset-based organisations by fostering collaboration, supporting the spread of vital information and helping organisations to act locally in a way that puts people at the heart of decisions and is socially just.

On the day there will be a series of speakers in the main hall, as well as workshops, short talks and the space for organisations to talk and collaborate together. Delegates will also be asked to sign a “Dorset Declaration”, a commitment to act, advocate and lobby for action on climate change and the environment across the county.

If you are interested in attending this event, fill in the online expression of interest form on Dorset COP’s website where you’ll also find lots more information. Please note places are limited so get in touch soon.
