DEED offers Family and Children’s Workshops up to KS1 based on Globally Inspired Crafts. These can be tailored to a specific country or technique.

Workshops are usually based on a country or location, or a theme:

  • Australian Aboriginal Artwork, based round the story of Tiddalick the frog
  • Group artwork on a cloth that you can display
  • Individual decoration on a hanging mobile
  • Decorate a didgeridoo (paper version)

  • Making a small Krishna type drum from recycled materials
  • Mask Making - Animals of India
  • Using ‘the Elephant Dance’ and ‘the Animal Boogie’

The theme of Identity or Myself

  • Using the ‘I Love My Hair' box
  • Make self-portraits using either paint, drawing, collage or chalks. Particularly good for family workshops.

Make a Shaker

Using our musical shakers from around the world for ideas, make a shaker using recycled objects. Particularly good for Early Years or Reception Class with parents. We do the Shake Shake song at the end.
